Job Description:

  1. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
    The primary responsibility of this role is to design and develop Wright Line Lab/Office furniture to meet customer specific technical, cost and market related technology requirement of B Line Business.
  2. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Limit yourself to 8-12 statements)
    • Support  multiple projects/programs/teams related to  new product development (NPD), value analysis and value engineering (VAVE) and sustaining engineering  (SE) through the execution of these programs/projects  in a timely manner, supporting the business goals and Profit Plan objectives.
    • Preparation and maintenance of Project Plans and ensure project execution per project plan.
    • Create CAD drawings , 3D models , Assemblies etc and ensure release in PLM  / ERP system per project plan.
    • Executes engineering projects/ programs, involving product design, testing and preparation of
      specifications, process studies etc
      using appropriate tools and techniques such as DFSS, DFM , DMAIC, DFMEA etc
    • Drive innovation from ideation through to execution, in doing so, add value to the product and improve or maintain current functionality, performance, installation time, customer satisfaction levels  and durability requirements.
    • Create Design verification plan and do design verification testing to ensure Critical To Quality parameters  are validated.
    • Actively participate in  events like solution blitz, design bursts , Innovation summit , product brainstorming etc and drive the solution to implementation.
    • Work cross-functionally with other functions at global level. This requires the incumbent to have ambition, drive, enthusiasm, communication , articulation and presentation skills and strong practical engineering experience to compliment his/her technical ability.
    • Resolve technical issues and road blocks impacting assigned projects by taking quick and timely decisions which are well supported by basic design calculations , engineering analysis and prediction methodology.
    • Adhere to design standards and procedures governing product design methods, documents and data control for Electrical business.
    • Actively participate project / program / Design / Drawing  reviews and technical reviews and ensure the quality design output for all the projects in the team.
    • Actively participate in events like solution blitz, design bursts , Innovation summit , product brainstorming etc and drive the solution to implementation.
  3. Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
    Experience: 1-3 years EDUCATION:

    Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

    Desired:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 1-3 years of experience.
    • Experience of working on CAD tools like Auto CAD or Solid works is a must. Experience of working on  PLM like SAP or Enovia etc would be preferred.
    • Demonstrated capability in design of Sheet metal and Plastic Components / Parts / Assemblies. Candidates with experience of working on Office / Lab furniture design / layouts , data center racks and cable management systems etc will be preferred.
    • Strong Communication, presentation and articulation skills is a must.
    • Sound knowledge of design documents, tools and processes like DFMEA, P diagram, VOC, design reviews , GD&T, Tolerance Stack up analysis etc would be added advantage.
